Dr. Bobby Mukkamala will be hosting a fundraiser for Sloan Museum and Flint Institute of Music Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at 5 to 8:30 p.m at the Sloan Museum.
Attendees can expect to view over 35 classic cars, food, cocktail bars, music and more.
Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased on the Sloan Longway website. Every ticket purchase includes appetizers and two drink tickets.
University of Michigan-Flint School of Management (SOM) will be hosting “How to Work a Job Fair” for students Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 from 5 to 6 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Riverfront SOM Business Innovation Center in room RF 2401.
Attendees can expect to learn about crucial skills like the “dos” and “don’ts,” how to develop an elevator pitch and know what to expect when attending a job fair.

The Flint Festival of Writers — formerly known as the Flint Literary Festival — will be in the Ferris Wheel this year on Friday, Sept. 13 to Saturday, Sept. 14.
The free festival will start with a kick-off party on Friday 6 to 9 p.m. during the Flint Art Walk, also at the Ferris Wheel, where refreshments, music and a book giveaway will take place.
On Saturday starting at 9 a.m., the festival will continue with workshops and panels from award-winning Flint authors like Kelsey Ronan and Jonah Mixon-Webster. Bob Campbell and Ben Pauli will also be partaking in a panels and workshops about their experiences on writing and publishing.
A reading by Perry of her works will be at 5 p.m. and conclude the festival.
Michigan Deaf Association and Michigan Deaf Health will be hosting the first annual Deaf Civil Rights 5K Run/Walk at the Michigan School of Deaf Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at 8 a.m.
All proceeds from the 5K will provide the resources to our local deaf community and will fund programs, workshops and scholarship.
Tickets are $15 each to participate and can be purchased on Eventbrite. Ticket sales end on Friday, Sept. 13 at 8:30 a.m.

For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum will be hosting a nature photography club meeting for both professional and amateur photographers at The Road at Crossroads Village Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Attendees can expect to walk the trails to search for and take photos of Genesee County Parks and historic buildings.
Attendees must be 16 years or older.
