In 1964 when Tod was 15, the only Deaf employee, he landed a job with the Mets organization through a connection his father made with then owner Donald M. Grant. Tillotson worked summer jobs for a few years and helped with mail, filing and special services, before taking on a full-time position as the Mets mailman. He worked there over 50 years since the first day he got his permanent job at Shea Stadium in Queens. He will be missed. Rest in Peace.
