NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – Summit Speech School’s 3rd Annual Fall Benefit Concert grossed $184,000 on November 2nd for the School’s programs that teach children who are deaf and hard of hearing children to listen and talk. The concert featured Mark Rivera and The Little Big Band playing British Invasion songs. In addition, alumna Anne Kleinle of Basking Ridge and her family spoke about the School’s transformative training and support at an early age when Anne was first diagnosed with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.
Anne Kleinle, a junior at Ridge High school, described her success in academics and extracurricular activities, including participating in the field hockey North Jersey Section 1 Group 4 championships. Anne’s parents, Joanne and Reed, spoke about their journey from feeling alone with their baby girl’s diagnosis of deafness, to feeling supported and confident about the best educational and medical choices that have empowered Anne to reach her fullest potential in mainstream schools and in their community.
Over 200 attendees enjoyed the dinner, dancing, music and live auction.
