A teenager is accused of breaking into a frail deaf woman’s home before stabbing her loving lap dog to death while she was asleep in her room.
Police will allege the teenager broke into the 80-year-old woman’s Mount Gravatt on the evening of May 19 before beginning to rifle through her belongings.
It’s alleged as the 17-year-old Daisy Hill boy reached the woman’s room and found her sleeping inside with her two-year-old dog. The teenager allegedly stabbed the pup to death using an unknown weapon before taking a number of the woman’s valuables including jewellery before fleeing the scene.
The woman did not wake up during the alleged home invasion or slaying of her dog and sadly awoke the next morning to find it stabbed to death. He was arrested by police 11 days later and charged with with six counts of burglary and commit indictable offence.
He was also charged with four counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of serious animal cruelty, obstruct police and failure to take precaution in respect to a syringe. As the teenager is under 18 he will be dealt with under the provisions of the youth Justice Act.
